Leonard Nimoy To Voice Sentinel Prime In Transformers: Dark Of The Moon?
About a year ago we found out that the legendary Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy would be retiring from acting following his appearances on Fox's sci-fi series "Fringe." However, it turns out the actor has just landed a role in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. However he won't be physically appearing on camera, he will instead voice the new character "Sentinel Prime", the Autobot who was unveiled earlier this month and predecessor of Optimus Prime whose wrecked body is seen on the moon in the thumping teaser trailer. After being brought to Earth, Sentinel Prime takes the form of a fire engine during the insane battle that takes place in Chicago.
Hardcore Transformer geeks may remember that this isn't Nimoy's first foray into the Transformers universe. Previously he voiced Galvatron in the 1986 animated film Transformers: The Movie. In addition, apparently Michael Bay wanted to ask him to do a voice in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but didn't know if he could afford to pay the actor enough. Bay says, "I was too scared to ask him. Plus, he’s married to Susan Bay, who’s a cousin of mine. So I had to be careful. I’ve met him at family functions. But he told me, ‘I would be honored. I’m glad to be back!’”
All hail lord Nimoy!!!
