Thor And Iron Man 2 Movie News
So the rumours were partially true about Nataile Portman joining Kenneth Branagh's Thor movie... Instead of being hired to play Thor's Asgardian love interest 'Sif' she's now confirmed as Nurse Jane Foster, a character who is the original love interest to Thor's human alter ego 'Donald Blake' and then eventually to Thor himself.
We've heard that the majority of the movie will be based in Asgard and that the human scenes will be latched on to the end to join cohesively with the Avengers movie, but having a relatively big name like Portman means that we may see a larger portion of the human world feature than first thought.
Good news though as she gives the movie a little more geek-chique for all those fanboys out there and should Jessica Biel actually be cast as Sif as rumoured we could have a serious hottie filled movie on our hands!
And of course when speaking of hotties we must include the voluptuous totty that is Miss Scarlett Johansson, who will soon appear as the fan favourite Marvel fem fatale 'Black Widow' in Iron Man 2 next year. Entertainment weekly has published the first images of her dressed in her trademark black jumpsuit and (terrible) red hair and its has sparked a wide spectrum of debate over whether her casting was the right decision. I'm not going to say anything just yet, I'd like to see how she comes across before pre-judging her based on a couple of photos.
Within the EW article were the following highlights:
* Sam Rockwell plays a fast-talking weapons manufacturer named Justin Hammer, 'who fancies himself the next Tony Stark'
* Mickey Rourke plays Russian criminal Vanko, who creates his own battle-suit while incarcerated in a Soviet prison.
* Whiplash’s suit 'shoots devastating, whip-like beams.'
* Hammer and Whiplash join forces to take on Stark/Iron Man
* Rourke insisted that his character have a cockatoo, which he talks to and gets drunk with while he’s making the suit.
* Scarlett Johansson plays Russian super spy Natasha Romanoff (aka the Black Widow), who is hired as Stark’s assistant, which sparks romantic tension between Stark and former assistant Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), who’s been promoted to CEO of Stark Industries.
